The Christ Principle

Christ is the English term for the Greek Khristos meaning "the anointed one." The Christ's principal is the animating, energizing Power of God, rooted in the Logos, the Word.

The Christ principle is an Emanation (the Logos), an absolute principle and an abstract principle. The Christ is the Logos, the Word embodied in Holy Spirit, the Son, the red ray of action. When you speak of joy and selflessness, you are describing actions of the Christ principle.

The Logos is the third Emanation, the Son-God principle of Power and Selflessness, also called joy. The Logos is Light as energy and action. Light expresses as harmony. Energy expresses as equilibrium. Action expresses as perfect balance. The Logos, as kinetic energy, animates all forms planned by Mind and filled with Substance.

Soul dedication to serving the Christ principle: To speak only the things the Christ would speak through me. To hear only the things the Christ would hear as me. To do something each day to show forth this Spirit of the Christ as me. – Edna Lister, Lenten Vows, 1936.

The world may offer you many pearls of experience, but only by following the Christ can you claim the pearl of great price. – Edna Lister, Crusaders of Light, March 8, 1942.

The Son of Light is the Holy Ghost, surnamed the Christ, which animates the creative prayer molds, formed and filled with Light. – Edna Lister, What I Do Have, I Give, October 1, 1950.

The third Emanation of the Logos is the red ray of the blood of the Lamb, the Son of God. It is the Christ principle, objective as glory, the energizing Power of God. Jesus the Christ was a world teacher. The sign of a teacher, not the person but the result of the teachings, is first, the students' quality, and second, the loving devotion of his followers. Everyone who shows the Christlike qualities is a teacher who radiates that certain "something" that makes others follow. Thousands of people followed Jesus in his time, tens of thousands followed his disciples, but millions follow him today. People teach Jesus the Christ in every nation on earth, which is the outer proof of Jesus' status as the Christ. – Edna Lister, Jesus, the Teacher, October 3, 1954.

As Christ was the application of law as flesh, so the Christ principle today is the application of all law as he taught it while in the flesh. Becoming law to live with him in that eternal, infinite consciousness. Ever to come closer to him, to be law made manifest is the essential way. You apply this by becoming all law, the commandments, old and new, the Sermon on the Mount, all laws gained in classes and personal clinics. – Edna Lister, Unpublished Papers, April 5, 1965.
