Color

Color is both a property and a quality; it is "a visual attribute of things that results from the light they emit or transmit or reflect." Objectively, "the particular color of a body depends on the molecular constitution of its surface, as determining the character and number of light-vibrations that it reflects."

Subjectively, color is the particular sensation produced by the stimulation of the optic nerve by light-vibrations. Further, we define color as a particular hue or tint, a constituent into which we may decompose white or "colorless" light in a series we call the spectrum.

Color is the first abstract expression of the absolute trinity of Light, which reveals the primary rays of yellow, blue and red, which become the full spectrum of Light. Color is a law of being, rooted in the principle of substance. Color is also a law of doing: whatever you choose to do colors your reality.

Edna Lister on Color

Love, colored by the world, is polluted, diluted, a tiny stream. – Edna Lister, Love: The Conqueror, April 12, 1934.

The art of living is the application of what you know to what you do. It defines your type of expression of life, how you color life, how you mix your colors, or ingredients, and how you apply them. – Edna Lister, The Theory of Being, November 18, 1935.

Colors, numbers, tones and forms reveal to the searcher spiritual truth and divine realities. The mystic symbolism behind colors (names), numbers (vibrations), tones (musical), and forms (geometric) constitutes a divine language. – Edna Lister, Twelve Tribes of Israel: Divine Scale of Twelve, April 23, 1936.

As a radiant, spiritual being of Light, you operate under the same great creative principles that govern all phases of universal life: Light, color, tone, number, name and form. Light is the first Substance you see with physical eyes. Light contains all other principles. Light expresses quality, color expresses quantity and tone conveys quality and quantity. Imagination imparts quality and quantity to color and tone in everything you do. For instance, your tone of voice has quality and quantity (it has Light and color) and your use of tone as spoken words employs number and name.

You color, give tone and number to everything we do, all our everyday activity. Our thoughts, emotions, words and actions may seem common and ordinary. Yet you use the same almighty foundation principles upon which God bases and establishes universes and under which they operate. You unconsciously live by these principles in the smallest and greatest moments of your lives. All principles are contained in the pure white Light of the Christ, which is why you must seek to live by the Light. – Edna Lister, A Design for Ascension, 1941.

The Holy Breath is pure Light, but if you color it with negativity, you receive no benefit as it flows through you. You send it forth as dark clouds, or as Light. – Edna Lister, Flaming Desire, May 26, 1941.

When will and desires are pulling opposite directions, you are filled with conflicting emotions, thoughts, doubts and fears, which color the Holy Breath moving through you as the River of Life, creating clouds and leaving imperfections behind. – Edna Lister, The Teammates: Will and Desire, May 28, 1941.

Light encompasses four other principles: Color, tone, number and form, or name. When self colors the emotions and thinking, the imagination will create the adulterated form. – Edna Lister, The Driver's Seat, May 29, 1941.

To ascend, you must be Light, all weight and color blended into the Christ Light. – Edna Lister, And It Came to Pass, April 30, 1950.

Color is the basis of all truth. Light became principle, then exploded in motion. Rays of colors flowed through the universe as a circular and cyclic [spiral] vibration. – Edna Lister, Be-Attitudes, July 24, 1951.

Faith, as white Light, contains all color rays. When faith operates as consuming fire to heal, it does so under the blue ray of Love. When faith operates as Power to energize, it does so under the red ray. When faith operates as knowing, it does so under the yellow ray of Wisdom. – Edna Lister, Do You Always Wear Your Armor, November 15, 1953.

Light is God expressing to the outmost parts of creation as the principles of color, tone and outer form. If you have no color in your tone of voice, your voice is monotonous. All colors radiate from within. All creation comes from the one Light, but is stepped down into form. Light becomes tone and color as you express it. Light as number becomes expression in form for everything. You see Light expressing as color. You hear Light expressing as tone. Tone colors your voice in many degrees, and you form words under tone. You can color whole lives if you live by Light. If a person devotes his life to self, his color is drab and gray. – Edna Lister, Jesus, the Descended God, December 12, 1954.

What you know, Light will do. What you declare, color will do and it becomes tone, then form. When you say, "This is good," you number and name "it," and the pure color and tone of God makes it form. – Edna Lister, Jesus, the Descended God, December 12, 1954.

All general action proceeds from Light to color to tone to number, until it reaches form, which manifests on the spoken Word. The spoken Word starts the personalized vibration of creation in manifestation. By the color of your words, you either condemn or "bear witness to Light." It shows where you walk, with self or with God. Your words can be gray or brilliantly hued. – Edna Lister, Four Phases of the Word, February 1, 1955.

The first relative trinity is Light, color and tone. From this point, form begins to condense. All spoken words originate from this third trinity. [The Emanations form the Three-as-One. The first trinity is absolute Wisdom, Love and the Logos; the second trinity is the Supreme Mind, Substance and Power.] – Edna Lister, Kabbalah: Enfolding Back to the Source, July 22, 1955.

The principle of Light governs seeing. All concepts originate in the Emanations of Light. The principle of color governs hearing, the Oversoul, the superconscious mind and the electronic fire body. You grasp ideas as color. – Edna Lister, Kabbalah: Enfolding Back to the Source, July 22, 1955.

Light, color and tone form three inner vibrations. Number, name and form take on outer form. It takes the first three vibrations of Light, color and tone to make number; it takes the first four to make name, and it takes all five to make form. – Edna Lister, Numbers and Names: Twelve Cosmic Magnitudes, July 10, 1956.

When you allow no thought of self to color your love for your neighbor, only harmony can reign. – Edna Lister, Keys to The Kingdom: The First Step – I Accept, February 27, 1957.

Everything emanates color. Every word and every emotion shows color. – Edna Lister, Come Ye Apart, April 20, 1958.

As Jesus passed by, he saw a man who was blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he we born blind? Jesus answered, Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him; I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. – John 9:1-5. Jesus saw the blind man's aura, his field of colors, and knew he was chosen for this special lesson. Jesus worked on the principle of color. You do too, whether you realize it or not. The mind's eyes and ears recognize and when you are high in consciousness the Power tells you what to do. You just "know." – Edna Lister, Visualization, May 17, 1959.

All interpretations of philosophy emerge from Light and color combining to give tone quality as well as quantity. – Edna Lister, What Is Symbolism, October 6, 1959.

All things in heaven and earth are run under lights and colors. – Edna Lister, I Am the Bread of Life, October 25, 1959.

Wear your rose-colored glasses, stay up in consciousness, and color things with Light. – Edna Lister, Invisible in a Mist, June 25, 1961.

Your words create powerful suggestions that color the emotional receptivity of your listener, who recreates what you said in an even stronger pattern. – Edna Lister, The Rebirth, June 9, 1963.

"Let there be Light" is the first principle of all creation. Light contains all three Emanations as One. We worship God as the Light. The Trinity of Wisdom, Love and the Logos becomes the first absolute trinity of principles and takes its name from the Emanations. From these three principles, all other principles are formed: Light, color, tone, number and name (form). These principles are always the same, never changing.

The first degree of condensation of vibration forms the color principle; the second degree of condensation forms the tone principle; the third degree of condensation forms the number principle; the fourth degree of condensation forms the first outer form, or name principle. – Edna Lister, God as Principle Applied Under Logic and Reason, November 5, 1963.

Wherever you go, you make yourself a challenge to darkness. Say, "In the name of Jesus the Christ, show your colors. Let there be Light." – Edna Lister, Your Sacred Light, November 10, 1963.

The spoken Word has become so powerful that the reaction of the law is higher and faster. If you send out the Light discolored by self, it will return to you sevenfold. You will then have to eat your words and apologize. – Edna Lister, Your Sacred Light, November 10, 1963.

Imagination may color all your hearing and seeing, and you induct that "coloring" from the world mind, the mental aggregate that surrounds us constantly. If you permit imagination, in turn, to color your intuition and illumination faculties, they cannot function as the Computer Mind of God within you, but as weak, limping extensions of imagination. – Edna Lister, Your Live Wire of Omnipotence, September 7, 1965.

Divine Mind directs and controls through the fundamental principles of Light, color, tone, number and form, by which it lowers the vibration of Light, condensing it into substance in successively denser stages until it reaches the point at which you may recognize it as form.

Everything has color, and everything has an aura of color, which is not the same as the magnetic rays that surround everything. Every rainbow, whether in a sprinkler, oil slick or the sky, comes in triplicate. You can see them if you look for them and learn how to focus your vision properly. The colors are in the atmosphere. Your eyes are the lenses you use to see them. The Light goes before you, from the third mystic eye in your forehead, and you focus from the inner see an aura. For instance, you do not look at the person when you focus vision to see the colors of their aura. – Edna Lister, The Relationship Between Color and Number, February 19, 1970.

Chromatics, mathematics, music, and geometry must be closely associated with their principles of Light, color, tone, number, and form for perfect development as divine realities. – Edna Lister, Unpublished Lectures, June 2, 1970.

A Story That Illustrates Color

Spring Green: All that God has is ours to draw upon. "Ask in my name and ye shall receive." Ask in color and you shall be answered in tone. One woman waited fifty years to see the leaves open in spring. She remembered, "Call upon Me and I will hear you." She believed that she would have it. One day, as the leaves opened, she heard the symphony of the stars, the music of the spheres. – Edna Lister, Victory: Using Your Magic Wand, May 24, 1970.
