To Stand, Hold and Know

To standing, hold and know are laws of doing and initiations in poise, endurance, and conscious awareness. You stand on absolute principle always as you hold fast to the truth, which is the Light of God, and know that God will take care of whatever you face when you ask Him. This is Good. Let there be Light is the perfect declaration in all cases of need.

Stand: Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.—Ephesians 6:13.

Hold: Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.—Hebrews 10:23.

Know: There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.—Matthew 10:26.

Edna Lister on to Stand, Hold and Know

Just know the truth and stand while the unjust know the truth and fall.—Edna Lister, January 31, 1933.

Real prayer treatment is knowing the truth. It takes place within you and is not projected onto anyone else. You never give a treatment to a person. You simply know the truth — whether you know the nature of the problem or the person is really not important. If you understand the principles of healing, then you know the conflict being presented has its source in the subconscious, which is not a mind but a belief in two powers, God and self. This appearance, this discord has no law of God, no life of God, no substance of God. Therefore, the appearance has no real power to sustain or maintain itself. If you know the truth the instant the conflict is brought to your attention, there is no danger of first taking it into your consciousness and then later having to lift it out and up.—Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1933.

You just know the truth that every appearance of evil is simply a form of mental malpractice.—Edna Lister, God as Consciousness Appears as Form, 1933.

God cannot fail you ever. You have His abundance to draw upon, and that is what you need to know and do. Where it comes from on the outside, and how it comes is God’s business; yours is only to know that you have it and to keep thanking God that you have it right now.—Edna Lister, Unpublished Correspondence, 1934.

God only needs one person to know the truth.—Edna Lister, October 12, 1934.

Hold yourself of high vibration that nothing of the outer world may enter your life.—Edna Lister, September 6, 1938.

Those who intellectually make sacrifices find themselves involved in much discussion and confusion. You must make your sacrifices to stand and hold a high point of ascension from the heart, backed by the mind. Reason and judgment must both rule and control the heart’s vain emotions until you can conquer them.—Edna Lister, September 28, 1938.

Devotion to the Father and His agents under the Master is your strength.—Edna Lister, September 29, 1938.

Hold fast and well to your desires, lest the enemy surround you and takes from you the little you have accomplished.—Edna Lister, October 27,1938.

You become a "tower of strength" when you make a stand.—Edna Lister, December 26, 1938.

Hold fast to God to keep your lines of Light free of doubt and lack of faith.—Edna Lister, January 23, 1939.

Desire alone cannot hold your lines of Light and responsibility. Your will must back desire to hold all in the Light.—Edna Lister, January 23, 1939.

Peculiar, how long it takes to learn how to stand on your declaration and to know with the faith of a creator god, even when everything looks like black failure, when others fail, when everything you depended on goes flat. When you know that nothing can move you from your declaration of perfection, then Power moves through you and release comes.—Edna Lister, November 10, 1939.

Stand firmly, hold the position you have gained, and hold fast to your share of Light and Power.—Edna Lister, November 14, 1939.

Stand and know until you forget everything else, and you will free yourself of all past bonds.—Edna Lister, July 31, 1944.

Someone must hold your point if you let the lines of Light go slack. The tragedy is that everyone on your lines slips into the mud with you when you forget to hold.—Edna Lister, December 8, 1944.

Let no one and nothing drag you down, ever.—Edna Lister, July 21, 1945.

Stand steadfast on the rock of unconquerable faith. Seek ever to act as the Christ would act under all conditions.—Edna Lister, July 22, 1956.

It’s a shame that you do not hold all the time, but let yourself sink into old ditches.—Edna Lister, November 17, 1956.

The main objective is to hold the high point, never sinking. It takes only one small picture, thought or emotion to land at the bottom, and you must climb back instantly. New Testament on to Stand, Hold and Know

By their fruits ye shall know them.—Matthew 7:20.

There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.—Matthew 10:26.

Every kingdom [consciousness] divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.—Matthew 12:25.

The tree is known by his fruit.—Matthew 12:33.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.—Matthew 24:42.

A group, divided in opinion, will collapse; a personality divided within itself destroys its consciousness. if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.—Mark 3:24-27.

Of that [Judgment] Day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.—Mark 13:32-33.

Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.—Mark 14:36.

A good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.—Luke 6:43‑44.

Nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.—Luke 8:17.

There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.—Luke 12:2.

God knoweth your hearts.—Luke 16:15.

Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.—John 7:16-17.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.—John 8:14. [You must know whence you came and where you are going.]

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.—John 8:32.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.—John 10:14. [The good shepherd knows his sheep, and is known by his own.]

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.—John 10:27. [Your sheep hear your voice, and you know them, and they follow you.]

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.—John 14:2-6.

I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.—John 14:16-17.

For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.—1 Corinthians 2:11‑12.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.—1 Corinthians 2:14‑16.

Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.—1 Corinthians 10:12.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.—1 Corinthians 13:8‑9.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.—1 Corinthians 13:12.

God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.—2 Corinthians 4:6.

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.—Ephesians 3:14-19.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.—Ephesians 6:11-13.

Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.—Colossians 3:23-24.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.—1 Thessalonians 5:21.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.—1 John 4:6.

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.—1 John 4:12-13.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.—Hebrews 10:23.
