Rebellion

Rebellion is open or determined defiance of or resistance to any authority or controlling power. Thus, rebellion is an act or a show of defiance toward authority, a fight or struggle against any kind of control.Merriam-Webster Dictionary

The etymology of rebellion is particularly to the point: the word comes from the Latin rebellio. Bellona was the Roman goddess of war (bellum). To the Romans, rebellion was a revolt or open resistance to their government by nations they had subdued in war; thus it was a renewed war, re-bellio.

“Rebellion is refual to obey; hence it is disobedience.”

The soul who refuses to obey is a rebel, one who is given to resisting authority or another’s control. To rebel is to be contrary, defiant, disobedient, insubordinate, rebellious, unruly, wayward, or willful. Those who rebel are often called: uncooperative, hardheaded, obstinate, opinionated, pigheaded, self-willed, stubborn, disorderly, undisciplined, discourteous, disrespectful, ill-mannered, ill-natured, impertinent, impolite, impudent, inconsiderate, insolent, rude, and uncivil.

Rebellion is a soul taint akin to disobedience and repudiation. The above synonyms comprise a veritable catalog of the selfish soul’s traits and taints. Do not let another’s display of self breed rebellion in you. A rebel is always against some manifestation of authority or control, most commonly some law regarding behavior, actions or moral restraint; hence is considered to be a lawless adversary.

When rebellious self divides itself from soul and Oversoul, no unity is possible. Subconscious mind separates itself from rational, thinking consciousness, super-conscious inspiration and illumination, and no understanding is possible, for only confusion can result. While rebellion against the authority of law is the factor at work in such a situation, several unpleasant side effects will result: The inner conflict between self-will and divine will surely does manifest as arguing and confrontation, leading to outer conflict among the parties involved.

Thus, self becomes the "thief of peace" among the members of a family or other group, which should operate according to the law of unity of purpose, to serve the Light. Treatment for Rebellion

To train a rebellious child, say, "This is the way it’s going to be," and walk off. Then lift all rebellion from his heart. Declare, "Let the Light go forth and consume all rebellious taints in Name." Declare into the child’s room, "All darkness is lifted. Let Light fill Name’s aura and consume all rebellion.
