Visualization

Visualization is to see or to form a mental image of something not before the eye; to picture mentally; the formation of mental visual images; the act or process of interpreting in visual terms or of putting into visible form.Oxford English Dictionary

“When you turn your imagination upward to be your soul’s vision, it becomes the mystic eye.”—Edna Lister

Visualization is the consciously directed deliberate use of the imagination faculty. To vision something is to see it in or as if in a vision, to envision. Visualization is active, but vision is receptive. Visualization is a mental and spiritual faculty, meaning that it is of the mind and the soul.

Edna Lister on Visualization

Visualization relates to the process of visioning. Soul vision deals with the unseen invisible spiritual realms. After you put a vision on paper and build its objective form, then you may reproduce it. You are no longer seeing a vision, but reproducing an object. You vision with the spirit, but it is no longer an abstract vision when it has taken form in your mind and you reproduce it.
You must see or picture the thing you want. You cannot add objectively real items in your life if your mind is blank about them. When you ask for God to pour His abundance upon you, and for the Power of love to go forth, you must give the equivalent in love for every desire of your heart. Always see the Christ before you when asking for perfection.
Imagination is the faculty that produces pictures. Look upward for visualization; look outward to reproduce things. You usually build pictures of what you do not want, but should visualize only the things you do want. When you can no longer see anything but perfection in the world, you need no longer bother with visualization.—Edna Lister, January 16, 1933.

That which you desire and once have envisioned must come forth, though you might lose sight of it until another lifetime, still, it must come forth.—Edna Lister, September 1, 1939.

Let your thoughts, emotions and your imagination’s picture molds be pure, simple, yet high, noble and as abundantly great as you can vision yourself being for God, here and now.—Edna Lister, November 10, 1939.

"Wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye."—Matthew 7:4-5. The tiny specks are what block your soul vision.—Edna Lister, March 3, 1940.

Your visions shall grow and become outer form under God’s protection in His time and way.—Edna Lister, November 20, 1940.

Do not allow any darkness from any source to disturb your vision, your inner wisdom or shake your surety of faith.—Edna Lister, December 11, 1940.

From the Light comes your ability to function the first and highest of our five physical senses, vision or spiritual seeing. Without Light, your physical eyes, as windows of the soul, you could not use vision on earth. Without Light, you could never see through the mists of matter into heavenly realms. The soul sees, not the physical eyes. Inner vision or seeing is merely a matter of focusing the eyes.
Your eyes work on the same principle as any camera lens. You focus on what you want to see. If you want to see the glass in a window, focus your eyes on the glass. To see the yard beyond, focus your eyes on the yard. To see the houses across the way, focus your eyes for further vision. If you want to see the unseen, which is all around you, just focus your eyes on the so-called empty space between the window and the house across the street.
It may take weeks to break through the silver-grey fields, the rainbow fields of color into the mist and Light beyond. Still, the golden Light is there, waiting for you to penetrate it with your vision. During the rainbow phase of seeing, all sorts of lovely, kaleidoscopic patterns may form to fascinate the inward eye. If you continue to look through them into the misty Light, the door to heaven must open to the soul.
The physical eyes cannot see spiritually. The soul, using the physical eyes, does the seeing. However, you must use the physical eyes by focusing them properly. Only the Light of God shining on the neurons nestled in the midbrain will unfold their tight, scroll-like cells. Only the unceasing heat of the white Light of the Christ moving over the neurons will open them. They close automatically when you remove Light.—Edna Lister, A Design for Ascension, 1941.

The higher your vision, the longer it takes to bring it forth into the outer where it can be seen by others. It takes longer to build a cathedral than it does a five-room house. If your vision is cathedral-size, others may finish their dreams before your foundation is complete. Waste no time watching others, for it will take more time and effort of labor to build yours from foundation to roof.—Edna Lister, "Bite Your Tongue!" Life in a Nutshell, 1942.

When you really want to see, with a burning desire, you will kick yourself to see every detail. Every time you climb, step by step, God takes your vision a little higher to show you the peak, but you go only as high as you earn. Some day you will step past ice, water, vapor and the steam stage, to stand bathed in the purple light of devotion. You will take another step and stand in the golden Light, then in the white Light of blinding Shekinah glory. You will no longer be able to look into the face of God and live after your former way of existence.—Edna Lister, July 31, 1945.

To "believe to see" when only darkness is visible to earthly vision, pray in joy, for it brings great rewards in soul vision.—Edna Lister, June 7, 1946.

You can have no soul vision on the inner unless you use what you have on the outer. You see on the inner just as you do on earth.—Edna Lister, June 24, 1947.

The only way to open vision is while you are serving selflessly and doing.—Edna Lister, December 13, 1947.

You receive exactly what you envision, minus your deductions of fear, doubt, worry, rebellion, gossip, self-pity and false pride, which all dissipate the Power of your decree.—Edna Lister, Fulfillment, June 6, 1948.

As creators of Light, it is a tragedy when we do not confirm what we envision.—Edna Lister, June 25, 1951.

All of us have looked for something that is right before our eyes, but was invisible because we wear the blinders of self, the veils of illusion, which delude vision. See past the illusion: For instance, declaring justice can avert injustice in a legal case in and of God.—Edna Lister, The Flaming Sword, July 29, 1951.

Love sustains all visions and creations.—Edna Lister, The Golden Silence, September 28, 1952.

Yesterday’s ideals and visions become today’s opinions and prejudices, unless you add tomorrow’s ideals and visions to today. The minute ideals and visions crystallize, they become opinions and prejudices.—Edna Lister, October 23, 1952.

When imagination ascends, you have great vision of new goals to become Godlike.—Edna Lister, Ye Are Gods, November 30, 1952.

Vision is imagination turned upward. Move up in consciousness first, think of what you desire to see, and extend your vision to it. It is a mental effort to see with the all-seeing eye, the imaginative faculty. You can turn the imagination down or up; people waste 90 percent of their physical energy by imagining silly things. For true vision, turn your camera lens up; when you extend your imaginative faculty for good, you can accomplish anything.—Edna Lister, December 4, 1952.

The difference between criticism and instantaneous vision to lift darkness is the speed with which you recognize a soul-empty place and look up to become the instrument through which love fills the space.—Edna Lister, October 3, 1953.

Today’s selfless vision becomes tomorrow’s exalted expanded living.—Edna Lister, October 5, 1953.

Righteousness is vision in action, a state of living right. You can release the love and wisdom of God only from a high place of vision.—Edna Lister, Seeing the Salvation of God, November 22, 1953.

Everything of the River of Life is in this room. You tune into the vibration you desire. You must go up and extend your consciousness as vision to penetrate the outer shell to the inner essence.—Edna Lister, December 10, 1953.

When Christed consciousness takes charge, imagination, which we used for imagery in the past, turns upward and becomes our guardian of life as soul vision.—Edna Lister, Your Life’s Plan, May 16, 1954.

According to imagination, vision grows.—Edna Lister, Your Life’s Goal, May 30, 1954.

Imagination carries you down and out as imagery, or up and in as soul vision. You must hold your vision on something great enough to carry your desires and will with it. Imagination as imagery takes you to the basement gallery of self’s sad, angry pictures of pain and conflict. Imagination as vision takes you to your tower room gallery of beauty.—Edna Lister, I Arise, June 20, 1954.

"Seek first the kingdom of God" and put your high vision into action and "all these things shall be added unto you."—Edna Lister, I Surrender, July 4, 1954.

Imagination becomes vision in action.—Edna Lister, December 19, 1954.

Your vision and love of God form your armor of Light, surrounding and protecting you.—Edna Lister, June 22, 1955.

Those who see spiritually use the faculty of imagination differently than those who don’t. The magic secret lies in whether you use imagination turned down to see pictures, light or dark, or turned up as the all-seeing eye of soul vision. Without vision, nations perish, and the individual crystallizes.—Edna Lister, Jesus, the Ascended God, June 26, 1955.

As you walk the Path of the Master, you receive a mantle of the Christ, of Messiahship. If you can hold your high vision consistently, following the Master all the way to become as perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect, your functioning of this high Christed Power is unlimited. As you forget or repudiate the Christ, you lose your vision and the mantle shrinks. The mantle shrinks and grows, according to your vision.—Edna Lister, July 4, 1955.

Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life—Revelation 2:10 refers to the death of the old opinions and prejudices. The crown of life is open vision, the ability to see around corners, which becomes a crown of knowing.—Edna Lister, January 15, 1956.

Mystic vision will open wide when you love enough. It takes driving, steadfast and continuous effort, a real struggle, to close out earth’s clamor, distractions, frustrations, the obstacles and hurts long enough really to see clearly just once. After experiencing clear seeing, forgetting the outer hurts and fears is easier until you lift them forever. The soul rides free on its wings of Light to soar above all petty hindrances of earth. No one can take this glory from you, and it is more than worth the effort and letting go of every personality that seeks to tie you to earth. Letting go does not mean letting down; you hold them higher than ever, above, where they cannot touch you.—Edna Lister, October 1, 1956

You earn your place by fulfilling your vision of devotion to God. Anyone can pay the price, surrender of self for the pearl of great price. Failure is quitting before you arrive, and springs from mental, emotional and physical laziness. Lazy souls don’t want to visualize the goal, but to escape the effort, because it’s just too much trouble. Subconscious mind allies with laziness, but can’t set aside what the conscious mind chooses. Each time you envision a new place, you draw an invisible magnetic circle that squeezes when you have reached its limits; then you know you need more room, a new place.—Edna Lister, Your Devotion to God, December 16, 1956.

The thalamus, a chamber near the midbrain under the cortex, lies above the hypothalamus. It is composed of a group of optic muscles and nerves that cross above the hypothalamus, those of the right eye crossing to the left, those of the left eye crossing to the right. This creates the all-seeing or mystical third eye at the optic chiasm. Without breathing the three higher spiritual dimensions of breath that inflate the brain cells, glands, and nerves in the head, while thinking of the Source, you do not have perfect spiritual vision. You can have perfect physical vision, but unless you consciously fill the optic chiasm with Light, you have no illumination.—Edna Lister, The Brain, Your Servant, October 8, 1957.

Discernment is the art of high vision and is based in perception (or insight). With discernment you may say no or yes correctly. Heed it. There is no way to explain your lack of discernment.—Edna Lister, Your Capacity for Freedom, November 17, 1957.

Eventually, you must be brought before the goal of your vision, before some Council to meet that vision, and they will ask you, Where did you keep your vision? In moth balls? In a deep freeze? In a safe, warm place? To hold a vision, you work out your salvation where you are and law brings you to that goal.—Edna Lister, What Money Cannot Buy, December 1, 1957.

You must hold a mental, emotional and spiritual "stillness," or you cannot extend your soul vision to see.—Edna Lister, December 19, 1957.

Seeing with mystic vision is natural when you live by divine law. The mystic eye reveals the original substance in cells, molecules, atoms and electronic charges. When you turn your imagination upward to be your soul’s vision, it becomes the mystic eye. You see all pain and disease with the physical eye; look beyond the pain with your mystical eye, and direct your vision to what God can do if you stand. You see someone wearing horns and a tail, but look behind their mask to see the beauty and the love, see them as perfect. The world may accuse you of wearing rose-colored glasses, but the mystic eye is the promise of all romance. You find no romance without using your mystic eye. Physical eyes see all the detriments, but the source of love is the mystic eye.—Edna Lister, February 17, 1958.

The secret of successful prayer in the golden silence is to be single-minded and oblivious to the world’s noise and distractions. A Source of Light lies at that highest point where you extend your soul’s vision. Space is endless, so we need not all go to the same place. Our Father has arranged that we each have our own individual Source, a secret place in which to expand and commune with Him. Turn imagination upward to a vision of Light as you ascend to the Source. Look up, think of this Source of Light, envision a room of Light, and you are there. Enter the Source as your personal room of Light. It is as simple as that. After you extend your vision to eternity, tighten your focus. Remain in the golden Light and praise God.—Edna Lister, Come Ye Apart, April 20, 1958.

When Jesus broke and blessed the bread, he saw it as a seed for a miracle. He comprehended the law of increase, to bless and to praise the seed, no matter how small. For example, the giant redwood trees, which grow three hundred feet tall and live for 3,000 years, throw tiny winged seeds. You can have no miracle without a vision of what the seed can grow. Vision is seeing the results of increase and expansion while holding the seed in your mind’s hand and blessing it.
If your miracles are partial or delayed, you have clogged your channels of increase and expansion. You must release something, some opinion or prejudice. People are afraid to let go, for they fear giving away something they might need. You must give to start increase and expansion flowing. Jesus never taught to sit and concentrate to produce something from nothing, out of thin air. Bless and praise the new seed, put it on a cloud of Light to grow, never forgetting to sustain and nourish it, then go about your business.
Jesus saw more than five loaves and two fish. Wheat fields produce millions of loaves of bread; oceans produce billions of fish. Five thousand needed to eat of the loaves and fish, and were waiting expectantly. He added their need to his vision to draw Power into visibility as substance. You never ask for self, or say my or mine to draw on Power; however, you use another’s need to envision enough for all and to draw it through you. When you think you are giving too much, you stop giving, cut the draw on the Power moving through, and sag at the seams. Your vision must be great to start the increase flowing. No one has touched the fringes of what "might be."
Ye are gods, and it does not yet appear what you shall be.—1 John 3:2. God’s vision is universal; He is all you see, all you shall see, all you shall use. Only you limit the power of increase. See only the results of your vision, not the need. Let your vision be great enough, and never stop nourishing that vision.—Edna Lister, The Miracle of Increase, April 27, 1958.

Yesterday’s most beautiful idealistic visions become tomorrow’s opinions and prejudices unless you add something or renew our vision today.—Edna Lister, May 30, 1958.

Running wild and uncontrolled, imagination can be devastating; it may become a source of secret fear, dread and doubt. Imagination controlled, directed and turned upward as vision draws everything else with it. That is the law. It is a matter of choice. You cannot use Power but you are free to use imagination as much as you desire.—Edna Lister, As I See God, June 1, 1958.

High mastery is righteousness, living up to your highest vision of God.—Edna Lister, As I See the World, June 15, 1958.

When your vision is way out there, it takes doing to catch up to it. See to it that your vision extends to a higher level in your becoming or you will sprout little wings of self-satisfaction. Never permit the self to become self-satisfied.—Edna Lister, September 4, 1958.

The difficulty for many souls is high vision and low living.—Edna Lister, September 17, 1958.

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is profitable for you that one of your members perish than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.—Matthew 5:29-30. Right in ascension terms means up; the right eye symbolizes your two physical eyes becoming the single mystic Eye of God. The left eye represents imagination and vision. If it causes you to sin, pluck it out, brainwash yourself. Cast out the prejudice, the negative emotional influences, the opinionated thinking that drags down and interferes with soul vision. Brainwash your little self into casting the darkness from your left eye. Don’t try to cast it off. I’ll try means you did not intend to do it.—Edna Lister, Brainwashing, Inc., October 19, 1958.

Anything of the little self fogs your heavenly vision and you can’t see with the mystic eye.—Edna Lister, October 21, 1958.

You ascend from the Land of Egypt [three lower centers in the abdomen] by your acceptance, and enter the Promised Land, represented by the stomach (assimilation and acceptance), heart (love) and lungs (expansion, inspiration and aspiration). Soul vision opens in the Promised Land, the land of perfect Mind. Education has nothing to do with this Mind. As your vision expands, you broaden your assimilation and love. Acceptance ascends you to the higher centers [throat, brow, and crown] and the Garden of Eden, the head. The throat is the I-me-my center. Many get stuck on I don’t care. I can’t—I. I. I. No one can ascend without sacrificing "little self" at this center. From blindness of self to soul comprehension, this is the Path.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all things shall be added to you.—Matthew 6:33. This law covers everything. It shows exactly how to keep your vision focused.
Righteousness is applying higher vision to everything you do.—Edna Lister, Constancy in Obedience, October 26, 1958.

Whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.—Matthew 16:19. You loose imagination from inducting impressions of earth and find that you have freed soul vision in heaven.—Edna Lister, Oracles of God, November 16, 1958.

Visualization means to recall what you have received as a vision or seen in the outer world. Moses is an outstanding example of visualization. Someone had to visualize Israel’s future strength and glory. If Moses had not visualized the freedom of Israel, they would never have left their bondage in Egypt.
Visualize your contact with God, yearning to be close enough to Him to express what He has to say. This is very important. An image in your consciousness becomes vision.—Edna Lister, Visualization, May 17, 1959.

To have a hunch means the interpreter of self has taken over, not the vision that expands.—Edna Lister, Desire Is Your Glory, June 14, 1959.

You only have an instant between seeing negativity and turning imagination up as vision, to see Light absorb and lift evil as smoke disappears into the sky. You can use imagination to close the camera’s shutter and the Christ Light flash will flood the situation. The eye of vision covers the person in Light, perhaps before they know they have done anything negative.—Edna Lister, Imagination Is Your Crown, June 21, 1959.

If you live but one day according to your supreme vision, God will hold you until you reach that vision as a worthy citizen of the kingdom.—Edna Lister, Your Philosophy of Freedom, June 28, 1959.

Loved ones seldom want to accompany you on your climb to vision. They rebel because they feel they are being forced to ascend. If you live up to your vision, Power uses you and Light melts and dissolves all intolerance in the other fellow’s heart.—Edna Lister, I AM the Way, October 4, 1959.

Vision reflects uncreated Light, and is the power to commune with God. Vision raises the vibration of soul to think as God. When you add Vision to Fact and Legend, you are unlikely to misinterpret. People misinterpret vision because they do not know God. Vision makes itself at home in purity of heart, mind and purpose. The one with vision teaches no punishment, knowing that each plants his own thorns in his own path, and must pull them out by hand, the hard way.—Edna Lister, The 33 Degrees of Soul Conquering, November 3, 1959.

Virtue is the exercise of every God-given faculty or talent, and all turned upward as vision.—Edna Lister, What Is Virtue? July 12, 1960.

You never see a thing you don’t believe you will see.—Edna Lister, The Gift of Discernment, December 11, 1960.

An initiation consists in an illumination or a vision to achieve a higher goal, praying, and recognition of the law and what you must surrender. A new vision demands that you throw out more ballast of self so you can go higher, then vow to practice the new law.—Edna Lister, May 27, 1961.

Every abstract theory begets a picture as the thinker ponders it. The vision becomes concrete when you lower the substance in vibration to fill that vast mold. An abstract theory requires an experiment to make it visible. Scientific miracles are hard work. Mystical miracles are easy. In your devotion, you see a vast picture. At some point in this, God takes charge. That point is where your love, courage, faith and devotion grow to match your new vision. Pondering the vision releases the Power needed to fulfill it.—Edna Lister, God Takes Charge, June 11, 1961.

Judging a person’s potential is different from justly appraising his ability to perform. You pay a debt for holding another accountable beyond his potential value appraisal level.—Edna Lister, July 25, 1961.

You get just what you envision.—Edna Lister, Life Triumphant, May 27, 1962.

You can extend your vision all over earth to lift. Imagination, lifted as vision, enables you to use what you have.—Edna Lister, June 7, 1962.

Conquered imagination becomes vision. When you turn imagination up as vision, your creative molds are stronger than steel.—Edna Lister, March 18, 1963.

Rebirth is a mystical term. Re means to go back to; birth means something new. Rebirth is a mystical statement meaning that you have fulfilled some goal or vision.—Edna Lister, The Rebirth, June 9, 1963.

Sliding down the greased pole is losing your vision and rhythm. Thinking of these things twenty-four hours a day is not possible. You can’t be objective and counting all the time, but through imagination you can glance up 1,000 times an hour. You can thus see your vision.—Edna Lister, The Void and the Light, June 18, 1963.

Soul vision and hearing depend upon the height, breadth and depth of devotion.—Edna Lister, November 4, 1963.

When you turn imagination into vision, you open the optic thalamus into seeing and hearing. You tune in on a light wave and hear the voice of God; you can see and hear only on a light wave. No wonder it takes so long to see and hear. You must ascend to close the physical and mental sound waves, and to escape earth’s gravity. You hear physical sound with physical ears, and mental sounds like telepathy with a combination of the desire and mental bodies. When negative emotions take over, you register them as you do earth sounds. They are more difficult to erase when you allow them to register on mental body equipment. Atoms in the brain cells register telepathic thought. If personality and emotions fog your ]mental equipment, ideas from the mental world are unclear.—Edna Lister, November 18, 1963.

Once the Christ consciousness takes over your life, imagination, which has been used for imagery, turns itself upward and becomes the guardian of life known as soul vision. Vision reveals law, and intuition and illumination become the interpreters of what vision grasps from the Christ mind.—Edna Lister, Five Keys of the Kingdom, 1964.

Righteousness is your high soul vision in action.
The Light from above, made by God in the beginning, shines down upon the inner eye awakening the faculties of the seer and prophet, which make you a mediator of the Legions of the Christed Ones. When you sank down into the land of Egypt for experience, you turned the kingly faculty of imagination downward on its axis, using it for clairvoyance and clairaudience as a medium does. In this inverted position, imagination perverts Power into selfish channels for greed and gain.
Imagination focused downward cannot enter the kingdom of heaven until it reverses itself to face the Light. Imagination cannot contact the Christed consciousness without giving up self and fully surrendering the soul to be possessed by the love of God with no thought of personal gain. As you turn imagination upward to use it as soul vision, instead of thought pictures, it functions as intuition and illumination, the attributes of a mediator, which form themselves into comprehension, the combined Wisdom and Love of God in action.
No lip service will ever ascend you to the high place or give you a balanced vision.—Edna Lister, Five Keys of the Kingdom, 1964.

Imagination will picture the relative, but only pure vision can show you the Source.—Edna Lister, Omnipresence, the Father’s Primacy, November 24, 1964.

Faith is the ability to use inner vision, a seeing to believe that law will work.—Edna Lister, Eternity Is Now Mine, May 9, 1965.

Stop seeking causes, which is the self, enjoying analysis. Analysis produces malnutrition, which obliterates your soul vision. Declare it good and you will see the picture of your taints. You will see the blackest evil changed to Light. Look and accept, saying, "Let there be Light" to ascend. You need nothing else.—Edna Lister, November 1, 1965.

The Christos Degree requires you to develop extended vision, mediator, vision, seership, and prophecy.—Edna Lister, December 15, 1965.

As you enter the golden silence, use the first few moments to look around, extending your vision and hearing.—Edna Lister, May 20, 1966.

Visualization is a combination of coordinated imagination, thinking, and desires. Imagination is your kingly faculty, to build pictures. It is a creator’s God-given attribute. God has created you with a special set of brain cells fashioned as a lens through which the soul sees.—Edna Lister, May 24, 1966.

You must turn the senses upward to open vision, receive a symbolic vibration through sight, hearing and smell, then each must find its proper place for comprehension.—Edna Lister, August 4, 1966.

It is easy enough to achieve the vision of the whole. It is another thing to let go of the weaknesses and taints of ages past.—Edna Lister, September 25, 1966.

Our work is ascension to live by Oversoul, to open seeing and hearing. You may have illumination and visions, but these cannot be compared to breaking through to the Source.—Edna Lister, November 15, 1966.

You hear only as high as you can consciously see and know. We call it our highest point of contemplative comprehension. This has nothing to do with meditation or thinking; contemplation takes you up and out of intellect. When you immerse yourself in receptive contemplation, comprehension comes as a flash of soul-knowing in devotion, in oneness with God always. Power uses you with every thought, conscious or unconscious. Everywhere is here. Your soul vision collapses time and space.—Edna Lister, January 5, 1967.

Your world is as broad, long, deep and high as your vision can make it.—Edna Lister, March 10, 1967.

Have the firm conviction that nothing limits what God can do, nor your potentials or what you can do. Stretch your vision to meet the greatness that lies ahead. Your own idea is the limit of your horizon, but no limit to God, nor you. Don’t put up a barrier, despite the past or what anyone on earth may say. Come above it.—Edna Lister, November 12, 1967.

Let your vision accept the highest, and your ears hear only God’s Voice, and speak the Words of Light to all evil. It shall be absorbed according to your vision, your hearing and your words.—Edna Lister, February 25, 1968.

Seeing challenges before you, know that they are a result of what you have done, and thank God for the faith, vision and courage to know and to face them.—Edna Lister, March 13, 1968.

God has not given everyone full vision because the horror of their words and acts would be too ghastly to bear. In His mercy, He veils their records until they can bear to look at themselves.—Edna Lister, May 12, 1968.

Dreams are symbolic. Move up in consciousness to soul vision.—Edna Lister, May 23, 1968.

When your soul vision opens, danger lies in the fact that you may return with the vision and think you have it all. You want it to happen right now out here. No matter what, you must start at the bottom by climbing the stairs, enduring, standing, holding, applying what you know of the practical to what God gives you, never losing sight of the vision, and enduring while you wait upon the Lord.—Edna Lister, August 9, 1968.

You will be searched and tried until all your words follow the vision of your soul, until your words are those the soul speaks.—Edna Lister, September 15, 1968.

Power shall never tear down what is created until it is condensed with Light to become vision to rebuild anew on earth.—Edna Lister, October 21, 1968.

Your forty-four faculties must be functioning and thousand-petaled crown lotus must be awake to vision infinity, to be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.—Edna Lister, December 9, 1968.

Ascension automatically leads you into extended soul vision.—Edna Lister, September 10, 1970.

Do not block your vision; only the self can block the soul’s vision. No matter how black it looks, say, "This is good" and believe it. Declare it good until it turns white.—Edna Lister, April 15, 1971.

Sharpen and strengthen your vision of and standing in the absolute vision of God, not the relative seeing of earth.—Edna Lister, May 20, 1971.

Your strength and the Power moving through you grow according to your vision.—Edna Lister, June 4, 1971.

Treatments for Soul Vision and Visualization

When you go to bed, think yourself out of your body before you sleep. This is how to gain full consciousness of what you are doing, for your vision and your hearing. Give yourself ample time in the morning to recall.—Edna Lister, April 11, 1938.

"I see with the eyes of God. My eyes are the eyes of God now. My vision is the extended vision of God and I see all things as perfect and very good. I AM. I can. I do accept. I surrender to be the servant of all the power. I arise. I ascend and stand worshiping Thee in the heart of the fire. This is good. Let there be Light."—Edna Lister, October 1950.

We move through cross-vibrations all day every day. Unless we are always God-conscious, we become scattered and have no visions or soul-flights at night. Before you sleep, ask the Father to gather together your scattered soul parts.—Edna Lister, I Ascend, July 11, 1954.

Never let go of your vision. Don’t complain about people who block your way as you walk toward the goal. Declare, "You are no block, but part of the greatness of the plan. You have made it greater." Act as if you have your glory now. Ignore the outer and see your vision.—Edna Lister, What Is Compassion? May 6, 1962.

Stories That Illustrate Vision

Those Who See Yet Do Not Perceive: And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.—Matthew 13:10-17.

Saul: Struck Blind to Learn How to See: And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, and desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I AM Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I AM here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, and hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake. And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.—Acts 9:1-18.

And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.—Matthew 5:29-30

The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!—Matthew 6:22-23

Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.—Matthew 7:3-5
